In this 6-part online course you will be walking beside me and witnessing my process, step-by-step, to inspire and equip you to create the botanical art of your dreams.

Part 1 - Colour & Calm Foundations

We begin with intention, choosing a colour palette that truly resonates with you. I’ll share how I select and mix my signature colours, offering gentle guidance as you create soothing, textured backgrounds with the Gelli plate that lay the foundations for the finished paintings.

Part 2 - The Magic of Translucency

This part, we explore the beauty of translucent papers and the art of layering. Working on a larger scale, you'll build richly textured backgrounds on mount board as I guide you through my own approach to transparency, depth, and subtlety.

Part 3 - Botanical Impressions

We’ll bring nature into our process by printing with real plants. I’ll guide you through creating delicate, organic prints and show you how to blend them into a beautiful finished painting, combining the mark making from week 2 with the soft, intricate details of printed clematis leaves.

Part 4 - Sketchbook Play & Soft Colour

With a soothing palette of blues, greens, and touches of gold, we gently experiment with layered Gelli prints. Then, we begin transforming our sketchbook covers with collage, paint, and texture a space for free play and thoughtful discovery.

Part 5 - Exploring Collagraphs

This week introduces a new technique: collagraph printing with nature-inspired textures. Simple materials become beautifully expressive prints. Together, we blend Gelli prints, collagraphs, hand-drawn marks, and collage into layered works filled with softness, detail, and heart.

Part 6 - Finishing Touches

To complete our journey, I’ll share how to professionally mount your work on wooden cradleboards using the right adhesives and sealing methods. These finishing touches will help your art feel polished and ready to share or display with pride.
