In this 6-part signature course, you walk beside me as each landscape slowly unfolds, from the very first abstract marks to the final luminous layers.
I don’t teach the techniques in isolation.
I show you how collage, paint, image transfers and wax flow into one another naturally.

Part 1 - Exploring Materials & Abstract Foundations
Learn how to work confidently with:

You’ll create large abstract pieces, a meandering sketchbook of textures and marks, and prepare cradleboards and papers for the next stages.
Part 2 - Crafting Evocative Landscapes
Build your first mixed media landscapes using:
• Spray paint
• Collage
• Gold leaf
• Modelling paste
• Layering techniques
You’ll explore how to evoke atmosphere, depth and subtle movement.
Part 3 - Image Transfer Techniques
Learn several methods to transfer your own photographs onto your work. Blend image transfers with painted elements and collage, and prepare your cradleboard underpainting for final layers.
Part 4 - Encaustic Wax Techniques
A calm and gentle introduction to working with wax:
• Layer wax for translucency
• Embed collage pieces
• Add texture and atmosphere
• Prepare surfaces correctly for strong adhesion
You’ll create large abstract pieces, a meandering sketchbook of textures and marks, and prepare cradleboards and papers for the next stages.
Part 5 - Alternative Finishes
If wax isn’t for you, explore:
