There's a drawer in my studio full of prints I never quite knew what to do with.
Lovely papers. Colour, texture, things I'd happily made an afternoon disappear into. And then... nothing. Back in the drawer they went.

You've got the prints. You know that feeling when one comes off the plate better than you expected. What you might not have is a plan for where they all go afterwards.
What happens after the prints are dry?

That's what we're doing here, together.
Here's the process, start to finish.
First, we print.
Magazine pages, the Gelli plate, and whatever botanical bits I've picked up on a walk that week. We build a stack of papers, layer on layer, and let a few happy accidents earn their place.
Then, we choose and plan.
Out of everything we've made, we pick our favourites. We work out a rough composition. We fold one single sheet into the shape of a little book.
And last, we make it ours.
A bit of collage, a few drawn marks, some quiet finishing touches. This is the point where it stops looking like a stack of prints and starts looking like your book.
By the end, a pile of loose papers has become something you made, cover to cover.
What We'll Make, Lesson by Lesson
Part One: Building a Collection of Papers
Lesson 1: Magazine Image Transfers
Choosing images, trying different papers, layering prints on top of each other to see what happens. Some come out exactly as planned. Some don't. Both are useful.
Lesson 2: Printing With Things I Found Outside
Leaves, seed heads, whatever was growing near the studio that day. We turn them into silhouettes and layered prints with a bit of character to them.
Lesson 3: Soft, Textured Backgrounds
A dry brush and a ruler, nothing fancier than that. These are the quiet papers that hold everything else together once it's all assembled.
Part Two: Turning Prints into Finished Artwork
Lesson 4: Folding Your Zine
One sheet, folded step by step into a little book. We plan where things sit, bring our papers together, and there's no binding or stitching involved anywhere.
Lesson 5: The Finishing Layer
Tissue paper, a few pen marks, a bit more colour where it's needed. This is the slowest lesson, and honestly, my favourite one.
Lesson 6: Inside a Live Zine Workshop
Footage from one of my in-person workshop days, printing in the morning, folding by the afternoon. Same project, a whole room of different results.
